Campus Construction Updates

It’s official—We have a first floor! This recent development, accomplished amidst the recent snow and frigid temperatures on Shelter Island, has everyone in high spirits and excited to push forward.

The new year is here, and the Campus Center has undergone yet another transformation. We’re astounded at the progress so far, and the pace is only going to get faster in the coming weeks and months!

December brought colder temperatures, winds, and snowfall to Shelter Island, but it wasn’t enough to slow the pace of construction on campus.

We’re pleased to report that more significant developments have been made on the Campus Center throughout the first half of November.

Over the last two weeks, more steady progress has been made on campus, including the installation of insulation in the faculty cabins and the I/A septic system.

While progress continues on the Campus Center foundation, the faculty cabins have reached a significant milestone.

This week, the Perlmans stopped by to survey the progress. Things are moving at a lightning fast pace!

With the rubble cleared and the dust settled on the old Dining Hall plot, construction of the Campus Center can begin in earnest.

Less than 24 hours after the Littles departed from camp, demolition of the Dining Hall commenced on Tuesday, August 19.

We officially broke ground, kicking off construction of Phase I at camp!
