First Floor Framing

It’s official—We have a first floor! This recent development, accomplished amidst the recent snow and frigid temperatures on Shelter Island, has everyone in high spirits and excited to push forward.

Looking northwest from the future dining area, you can enjoy an excellent view of the waterfront and begin to imagine a warmer and greener summer’s day on the porch, which will extend north from this point.

The photos above show the profile of the building’s first floor and basement levels. The basement will be home to the student lounge and media center, the wellness center, and additional storage. Below, you can see the view of the first floor from the south side…

Beyond the Campus Center, the northern edge of the tennis court has been shaped up with concrete after being cleared to make room for a wider road, and the installation of siding has begun on the Faculty Cabins.
