Dining Hall Demolition
Less than 24 hours after the Littles departed from camp, demolition of the Dining Hall commenced on Tuesday, August 19. Though the loss of the beloved “Caf,” so central to the camp experience, is certainly bittersweet, we’re determined to maintain a strict construction schedule that will allow programs to return next summer without interruptions.
Rest assured, some of the building’s most important amenities—the ping-pong, foosball, and pool tables—as well as any PMP memorabilia were rescued prior to the destruction.
While the new Campus Center is perhaps the highlight of Phase I, there are a few more projects being addressed: The Wellness Center, located near the south-west corner of the Performance Tent, is being fully renovated to provide public restrooms for concert attendees, as well as office space for staff on the upper level. Additional housing for faculty members is also being constructed in the large parcel of land south of Stearns Point Road.
More to come!
