2024 Israel Residency

Israel Residency: Reimagined

Thank you for what you’re doing for me and for all of my friends, and for Israel. You’re building something that wasn’t there before and will stay there forever. Thank you.

Israel Residency on Shelter Island
April 12 - 29, 2024

The Israel Residency has been a cornerstone of PMP’s programming since 1999, cultivating unique cultural exchange and artistic growth for our students. This year more than ever, we are focused on fulfilling our commitment to nurturing young Israeli string players by providing them with a much-needed safe space to hone their craft, explore ideas, and make friendships in the haven that is our Shelter Island campus.

Fourteen talented Israeli musicians will join seven international students for an enriching 2.5-week program led by Itzhak Perlman and PMP’s renowned faculty. Limited by our non-winterized facilities, we’ve ensured a comfortable and productive learning environment for our students. The residency will provide personalized instruction, chamber music coaching, chorus, orchestra, and several public performances.

We are more grateful than ever to the Israel Conservatory of Music and their sponsors for their partnership and generous support. We are especially grateful to the Genesis Prize for their lead sponsorship, The Edwin Caplin Foundation and Mr. Chretien Risley, Trustee, an anonymous Perlman Music Program donor, and Taube Philanthropies for additional support. We are also grateful to Seven Inn on Shelter Island for their generous donation of lodging for our faculty members.
