Our 2021 Summer Season

Beautiful music is our goal, and the way we get there is the special thing about PMP. It's about lifting up amazing talent in a fun, relaxed way.

We accomplished so much this year...

This was our most rewarding summer yet. After nearly two years apart, 26 faculty and more than 70 students and alumni were reunited in person on our Shelter Island campus.

The season kicked off at camp with an alumni recording session. Stay tuned for an official release.

29 string players attended the Chamber Music Workshop, representing talent from Canada, China, Eritrea, Israel, South Korea, and the United States. Listen in, and a word from Merry Peckham.

32 string players attended the Summer Music School from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Norway, South Korea, and the United States.

The Summer Music School orchestra was conducted, as always, by Maestro Itzhak Perlman. PMP alumnus Nico Olarte-Hayes also coached during his inaugural season as Dean.

The reunion of our chorus was particularly joyous. Listen in, and a word from Patrick Romano.

Time to recharge was very important this summer. This beach movie premiere was a favorite.

Special thanks to Sylvester Manor Educational Farm for a wonderful visit!

We presented 26 concerts in our Performance Tent for more than 1,500 audience members. To everyone who cheered us on, thank you for your dedication to the talented young musicians who will delight and surprise us for many years to come.

The season closed with a weekend dedicated to our Stires-Stark Alumni Recital Series. Our alumni are more and more distinguished by the day...

The timely release of Shelter Island, a sensational original piece composed by Xavier Foley and performed on our campus with fellow PMP alumnus Randall Goosby, underscores a spectacular homecoming and all that our mission makes possible.

Campus is quiet for now, but we'll be back soon.
