On occasion an international study/performance tour is a part of the Summer Music School@PMP; it gives students touring experience, strengthens their bonds with fellow musicians in the program, and broadens their horizons through exposure to other young musicians in international settings. Additionally, the tour provides a concentrated experience that reinforces the Summer Music School@PMP's message of non-competitive artistic growth. International exchange programs benefit students in the following ways:

  • Young musicians have a chance to take part in their first international tour, and get a taste of what might be like to tour professionally.
  • Relationships with fellow Summer Music School@PMP students are deepened—relationships that will form these students' professional network as their careers develop.
Participants' understanding of diverse cultures and peoples is enhanced, as they travel and build relationships with young musicians in their host country.
