The combined efforts of everyone involved results in a dynamic two-week residency that energizes and inspires everyone in the Program, as well as members of the local community. Regular events that are free for the public include: open orchestra and chorus rehearsals, masterclasses by PMP faculty members, and Works in Progress concerts. Each year, more than 10,000 people attend rehearsals and Works in Progress concerts.
This year, the residency is once again being generously hosted by the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus (USF S-M). With the collaboration and generosity of the USF S-M, along with the leadership and hard work of The Perlman Music Program/Sarasota, Inc. board, the residency is truly an ideal winter-time home away from home for the Program. The residency uses more than 25 University classrooms, as well as a 1000 seat tent constructed in the courtyard for public concerts and masterclasses.
