Chamber Music Workshop

August 12 – 27, 2012

NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS: CLICK HERE TO APPLY

What to expect as a Fellow

Students who attend as individuals will be placed in chamber music groups and assigned pieces prior to arriving on Shelter Island. Pre-formed groups are free to determine on their own which pieces they will focus on while attending.

During the day, the schedule is set up to leave ample time for rehearsals and coachings. Groups also play in one masterclass led by one of the Workshop’s faculty.

In addition, frequent reading sessions (often involving faculty members) are organized. At the end of the Workshop, each group performs a chamber music work in its entirety.

The 2012 season will be the tenth year for the Chamber Music Workshop.

The Chamber Music Workshop is a tuition free program. All students will be classified as “Fellows” and are awarded full tuition scholarships (a $1,700 value). Each Fellow will be required to pay a partial Room and Board fee of $500.
