An intensive 2 and a half week residency in Jerusalem, Israel for current students and alumni, ages 18-23

For Students

PMP in Israel

The Perlman Music Program is thrilled to announce a new Residency in Israel for May of 2010 in collaboration with the Jerusalem Music Centre. The Residency will merge twenty PMP students with twenty young artists from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel-Aviv and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. The residency will take place in Jerusalem.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, you must be a violin, viola, or cello student, have been a past participant of PMP (either at the Summer Music School or the Chamber Music Workshop), and be between the ages of 18 and 23. Students older than 23 are welcome to apply, as exceptions may be made based on need. Admissions decisions will be partly based on pairing PMP students with Israeli students to form chamber music groups.

Dates

The travel dates will be Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 (arriving in Israel on Wednesday, May 19th) and Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Tuition and Fees

The Israel Residency is a Tuition Free program. Every accepted student is automatically awarded a full tuition scholarship (a value of $3,800). There is a non refundable application fee of $75, plus a $1,200 transportation fee. $500 of the fee will be due as a non refundable deposit by January 15th, and the remaining $700 balance will be due on April 1st. The $1,200 fee covers all expenses, and is inclusive of plane fare. You will not be required to pay for your plane ticket. PMP will buy your plane ticket and cover all ground transportation while in Israel.

Application

To apply, fill out the application by clicking on the link on the right side of this page. Submit your application electronically, print, and mail along with your $75 non refundable application fee. Applications are due in our office (not postmarked) by October 15th. All admissions decisions will be made by January 1st.
