Summer 2008: August 7 to August 24

The 2008 season will be the sixth year for the Chamber Music Workshop @PMP.

All students will be classified as Fellows and as such shall be awarded full tuition scholarships (this scholarship is a $1,200 value). Each Fellow will be required to pay a partial Room and Board fee of $500.
All applicants including returning fellows must audition
The deadline for all applicants is February 20 (completed application and NONREFUNDABLE $75 fee)
Fellows will be notified of acceptance by April 1 (Note: date changed)
If you are accepted into the Workshop, we must have a $100 NONREFUNDABLE deposit no later than April 15, or you forfeit your place
Accepted applicants must pay $400 room and board due no later than June 1
We encourage Piano applicants to audition

WHO: The Chamber Music Workshop@PMP.

WHAT: A two week workshop for advanced players devoted to the study of chamber music with a focus on the string quartet and piano trio repertoire.

WHY: Because we believe that many advanced players cannot concentrate on chamber music during the school year.

WHEN: August 7 through August 24

WHERE: Shelter Island, New York

HOW TO APPLY: APPLICATION CHECKLIST

Audition VHS, Video Tape (NTSC) or DVD

- For individuals, one movement of a chamber work (duo, trio, quartet, quintet, etc.) and one movement of a solo piece (concerto, showpiece, unaccompanied suite or solo sonata). Identify your submission by writing name, age, instrument, current teacher and the works performed on the label.

Tapes and dvds will not be returned. No audio only submissions will be accepted.

- For ensembles, two contrasting works performed in their entirety. Identify your submission by writing the name of the ensemble along with the works performed on the label. Tapes and dvds will not be returned. No audio only submissions will be accepted.

NOTE: ALL APPLICANTS, INCLUDING RETURNING STUDENTS MUST AUDITION.
