Caitlin Lynch has been described as a performer for whom the term “‘gifted’ hardly does justice” (The Oregonian). An avid soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician, Ms. Lynch has had major concert engagements in fourteen countries on five continents. She has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras, whose tours have featured her concerti performances across North America and Europe. As a chamber musician, Ms. Lynch has had the honor of performing with Itzhak Perlman, Merry Peckham, Clive Greensmith, Kazuhide Isomura, and the American Contemporary Music Ensemble. Ms. Lynch is the founding violist of the Kosafika Quartet, currently in its seventh season. As an orchestral musician, Ms. Lynch has held principal positions ranging from the orchestras of The Juilliard School and the Cleveland Institute of Music to the Internationale Sommerakademie de Cervo (Italy) in performances from Carnegie Hall to international tours. Ms. Lynch has been first prize-winner in competitions throughout the United States, and her performances have been broadcast on KBPS radio and the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation’s Nippon Hoso Kyokai. She has taught youth with Williams’ Syndrome at the Berkshire Hills Music Academy, and recently travelled to Ecuador to teach masterclasses and orchestral sectionals for Quito’s Sinfonia por la Vida. A current Morse Fellow at The Juilliard School, she teaches weekly in the New York City Public Schools. Ms. Lynch is a full fellowship recipient at The Juilliard School, pursuing a Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Heidi Castleman. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Jeffrey Irvine and Lynne Ramsey, Ms. Lynch also received a minor in English literature from Case Western Reserve University. She has also studied with Jean Sulem as an exchange student at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris, and with Charles Noble of her native Oregon.
